Today I'm hanging out at home so I can work and save gas. I spend about $130 a week on gas and thats not including what I spend on tolls. Houston is way to big and everything is spread out every where. Fortunately I work for a really great company that allows me to work from home when I need too. Its also really nice since I have less distractions here. Well, I do have some laundry to do. Wait, Jack left all his toys all over the floor. Wow! Its such a pretty day, and my garden could use a little work. I should really use that elliptical machine in my bedroom.
I guess I just have different distractions here. :-) Is it lunch time yet?

Working from home does take discipline. The first time I got laid off and ahem became a consultant (because that's what unemployed technology people are), it took me 6 whole months to get into a rhythm to actually be productive at home. I got better with practice. This last time when I decided to become a writer in 2004, it only took about 3 months to get into being at home and really working.
I think it definitely helps to schedule time off. I have a habit of working constantly and letting things go around the house until its to late. Usually that is when I have a major deadline and I want to procrastinate.
